A 24-hour general strike in Greece amid continued protests against government spending cuts and plans to lay off the "working reserve" of 30 000 civil servants in exchange for the next tranche of aid from the EU and the IMF.
All public transport in Athens, including railways ,except underground, has announced the stoppage of work. Also all greek airports have canceled all flights for 24 hours because of the strike air traffic controllers, who joined to the trade unions.
A spokeswoman for Athens airport said more than 400 domestic and international flights have already been cancelled.
